The Hot Dipped Galvanised (HDG) product is a cold reduced or hot rolled pickled product that is immersed in a bath of molten zinc and air dried to control the thickness of the zinc coating.

Due to the protective nature of the zinc coating, this product is used in urban, industrial and marine settings.

John Tainton typically purchases material with a zinc coating mass of 275gm-2, although other coating weights are available.
