COMPANY HISTORY

Founded in 1972 in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, John Tainton has specialised in the supply of superior quality steel sheet and plate to those manufacturers of products where a high degree of flatness and quality surface finish are required. In 1979, the company was acquired by Hall Engineering (Holdings) plc and shortly afterwards began a major investment program, totalling around £2 million. This involved the construction of purpose built premises totalling 90,000 sq ft on the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Kidderminster, where the headquarters of the company is still situated.

Since John Tainton commissioned their first 17-roll precision decoil line in 1978, the company have continued to invest in state of the art cut to length line technology which has ensured the company maintains their position of market leader within the industry. 2001 saw the introduction of the industry changing initiative of QUICKSTOCK® which enabled John Tainton to react to the same day/next day delivery requirements of their customers.

In addition to the Kidderminster site, John Tainton currently has a sales presence in the North West, South East and South Wales, and began supplying steel in to the Irish market in 2007.

John Tainton prides itself on reliability of quality product coupled with a highly regarded delivery service.
